My teenager programmed it.

Very simple online instructions. My daughter has a 2001 Honda CRV and we didn't get the key fob when we bought it. It was difficult to open her doors with a key so I bought one and she programmed it in 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

2002 Honda Goldwing

Purchased for a 2002 Honda Goldwing motorcycle for locking and unlocking cases and opening the trunk. It was easy to program (using YouTube) and works like a factory Goldwing keychain for a fraction of the price. It has a trunk release button but works the same way.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Upgrades

It works and is very simple.

Used for programming 2001 Honda S2000. Works 100,000%, the steps are so easy your grandma can do it. The key comes with a battery so you don't need to buy one. Works like a damn charm. Complete solution straight ahead. If you can't do this, you'll have to go back to elementary school.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works best in interior

Unit works great on my 2000 CRV. The instructions website is indexed, moved and broken and the instructions provided are wrong. So it doesn't add much credibility to the company that made/sold them. Luckily there are several YouTube videos on the subject and these instructions on how to enter programming mode and pair with the car actually work. Getting the system into programming mode isn't easy, but it's actually a good thing. So far the key works perfectly.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Useless features

IT WORKS OUT! FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!

So I installed it on my 1999 Honda CR-V. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! THE LAST STEP IS IMPORTANT! You need to wait 10 seconds without turning off the ignition and press the unlock button to register it in the car. When you turn off the IGNITION, START THE PROCESS! After pressing the unlock button three times, wait 10 seconds and press it again, then turn off the vehicle. Go outside, close the doors and try. You must HOLD the sunroof button for the window to work. Also IT IS AWESOME AND IT WORKS!

  • Sleek Design

Cheap and works on my 2000 Honda CR-V SE

I bought a 2000 Honda CR-V SE that didn't have a key fob. I checked the OEM key fob part number before purchasing and made sure it matched. I followed some programming instructions that are easy to find online and it worked like a charm! Just a note - if you can use it to open the doors but not lock them, check the door sensors. The one on my driver's side wasn't making proper contact. After this was fixed it worked as expected. I've seen a faulty key fob being blamed for this issue and it…

  • Some little things

All buttons on the remote control work on the CR-V 200 SE model.

Fits my 2000 Cr-V SE. It can lock and open all doors/trunk windows. I gave it 5 stars for that alone. Before programming the remote I need to activate the security system by putting the key in Accessory II and then pressing the security button in the car (not on the remote) for 3-5 seconds. Then follow the seller's instructions to program the remote control(s). I can't find any document online that actually matches the specifications of the remote control. (Automatic, manual or service mode)…

It works, don't listen to stupid people

I'm a car mechanic. I am writing this review because I am annoyed by reviews from people like this guy Scott. Who left a star. claimed that this remote control prevented his door from locking itself into the automatic system. Or others who blame the remote's lack of ability. I've been doing this every day, all day, for years. I bought this remote because it's a good inexpensive option and it works if you're not stupid. He will never be able to pick the door lock. This guy can't even be…

  • Free for educational purposes

  • not reliable

It took me a few tries but it works 97 CRV

It took me a few tries to program the remote, my fault not the remote. In my unsuccessful attempts, I heard the locks engage, but the programming didn't work.... I skipped the last step; I turned off the ignition before hitting the lock for the fifth time, even though I should have left the key in position II. Also, I waited a few seconds before pressing the lock button one last time. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but it worked! Quick overview: key in position I, then press the remote lock

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Upgradable
