This is a hard felt. Round wheels give something, but not much. The wheels are also thin enough to let a threaded mandrel through when using a flat surface with pressure. I was interested in the pointy balls - they're not super absorbent, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the material you're using (Blush and Solids work pretty well, Flitz is fine at low speeds but doesn't work at high RPMs, etc. ). Bought for general purpose metal polishing with a Dremel. I've bought smaller, wider fabric wheels in the past, but they're expensive and a bit wasteful as the metal interface becomes unusable as the fabric wears out. They can only be felt 100%. They are very easy to use - you insert a bolt into your dremel, twist the felt pad and you're done.
