Good quality, odorless

Works as it should! I was fixing my grandma's old lamp and saw that the family used to use red oil in it, so I bought her red oil again.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Working speed

Schipper, look here.

I'm sure the oil is fine, it's just oil. but the packaging was worse, as the neck was inserted into the bottle at an angle. Luckily it didn't expire.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Colored Lamp Oil Hard to Find

Happy to find this online; I am in love with UltraPure lamp oil. I have a lot of big old kerosene lamps, and while this oil doesn't burn as brightly as kerosene, it doesn't stink in the house either! And the colored oil makes the lamps a great addition to the mantel in my living room.

Reliable source for high quality colored lamp oil

This is a high quality red lamp oil. Does not smoke and does not cause soot to form in the lamp chimney or on the lamp wick. I like the convenience of buying a bottle with delivery. A little expensive if you buy it in bulk as the shipping cost increases as the quantity increases.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Good but not great

For the price I deduct 3 stars. I have been buying this paraffin oil for 8 years now. It is almost odorless and works very well with #2 burners and 7/8" or 1" wick in all oil lamps. Its color is a pleasant ruby red and underlines the purity of the glass in my lamps. Everything you could want from a product that has been around for years and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Now the price. Over the years it has grown by 150%. Sears sells the same product for less than half the price. Not…

Cheaper to paint yourself

This is a good product but after purchasing it I found out that there is a lamp oil/candle paint on sale that you can use to color the lamp oil and think. The price for this is quite high compared to the price of pure oil. I feel like it's overpriced compared to clear oil and since I found out it's so easy and cheap to paint. I really don't understand the price difference. If you use lanterns a lot and like the colored oil idea, this probably isn't a good buy. I buy gallons of clear oil and…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
