This is a fantastic product when you want a more natural look and medium hold. It is very easy to work with and also VERY easy to rinse off. I wouldn't say the finish is fully matte, but it's certainly what's traditionally considered glossy. I received the product without the lid and with these weird markings on the cream so I didn't use it. It also smells TERRIBLE. If you like Target's cheap vanilla scented candles, you'll love these. The description says the flavor is "cream soda". It doesn't smell like cream soda I've ever drunk. So even if it wasn't damaged (used?) I would return it just for the smell. Very overwhelmed. I couldn't imagine wearing it in my hair all day. 1 star just for the smell.

After 21 years in the military, my wife made me grow my hair out and go to a stylist for a real haircut. This Layrite jar works just as well as the professional 'product' the stylist uses, but in greater quantity and at a lower cost. I'm happy about the good price because my haircuts are now a pretty penny and my wife is happy that I now look like George Clooney.

love this stuff! Definitely worth the price and the wait. The dry look is not shiny and wet. Great hold and if your hair gets tangled you can easily comb/comb/style it back.

To be honest, what I like best about this product is the smell. Smells of coconuts and dreams. Aside from the smell, the cream itself works great. It has a good hold and a nice matte texture if you don't work too hard in one area. This thing is amazing. Despite the quality of a durable metal container, this material is strong on all sides. I've always used Lyrite Superfix (brown bottle) but decided to try this one to keep my hair from looking so shiny (requested by my boyfriend) - and it does the job damn well! I was afraid my naughty hair wouldn't have enough medium hold, but it fit perfectly. This is going to be my new favorite Layrite product! It will be a very solid Christmas gift or stocking!
