It is really pretty but not a toy

This is a teaching tool for teachers. Although I let my son play with it (supervised), it's not exactly a toy. Anyway, I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Breaks easily - Clockwork toy

I was delighted to get this for my son as he always plays our roulette; Unfortunately, this thing won't be restored to its original state until after the game's afternoon.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Update available

Child Protection!: Clockwork Toys

Update: Has stopped working after less than 6 months. Very disappointed. Our son spent hours unwinding, measuring and rewinding the tape measure. He's got a blast. Good quality. Designed for kids to play with!

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Good product! best clockwork toys

Great product! The only thing I don't like is that it's not inches, it's feet. For example, 12 inches means one foot and then starts again at 12 inches. I prefer 24 inches etc. Overall a great product, my son loves it!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not sure

COOL AND FUNCTIONAL PLEASURE

GREAT TAPE - REALLY WORKS AND VERY DURABLE (WITH SOFT FABRIC TAPE). NOTE: METAL WRAPPING TURNS WHERE A SMALL THUMB CAN BE KEPT. THE. THE LITTLE ONE WAS BETTER TO HAVE A "PEN" BUT WE'RE SAVING IT FOR OUR 3 YEAR OLD WHO LOVES TO MEASURE THINGS. (HE USED THE TOY VERSION WHICH IS BROKEN SO WILL GIVE HIM THIS UPDATE) :-)

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some problems

Painful for clockwork toys

When you rewind the tape (it doesn't self-retract, you have to wind it by hand) it curls up inside. You also need to hold it in a certain way to make it return to its original position. It's too difficult for children. And since it takes forever to change diapers, it is very difficult to use and children quickly lose interest in it. Worse, the tape stretches to 12 inches and then starts over. It doesn't reach 13 inches, etc. First 1-12, then again 1-12, again, etc.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some little things

Broken after first use.

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday but ended up giving it to her for Easter. Unfortunately the return window has closed on this item because I waited so long to give it to her. I didn't realize how weak and unreliable this item was until she dropped it. It broke on first use. I thought it would last longer for a children's toy. It would be cheaper for me to buy her a Craftman tape measure! That would have withstood the hits and falls!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Null

only slightly broken

five stars for a toy that is only slightly broken? Yes. My son is very rough with this toy - pulled, wrapped around things, dragged around the house and thrown. One of the little sticks that help straighten the tape measure to roll it up has fallen off and the plastic pin holding it has broken. To be honest I didn't expect this toy to last as long as we used it. Things that could be improved: The roller is a bit small for adult hands - my 3.5 year old seems quite ok with it. Also the numbers on

Pros
  • GOLS-certified
Cons
  • only available in black
