📏 Longacre 52-53006 Econo Digital Tire Gauge: Accurate Readings with Active Display Review

Excellent pressure gauge. But I have a Longacre 53008 tire gauge/regulator that I use with my air compressor to check/inflate the tires on all my cars, but unlike the 53006 (gauge only) I just bought it has one Backlit which makes it easy to read and use in any light! I don't understand why they didn't do the same thing with this one! Would give 5 stars if it was backlit.

I threw it in the bin less than two years after buying it. 6 months after purchase it would not turn on in temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It then started running on batteries every few months, even when not in use. Eventually it got to the point that even with a fresh battery it wouldn't turn on at any temperature. It was a good sensor when it worked, but who needs that sharpening?

Seems to be a quality thing, reads very quickly, only complaint is that once you take it out of the tire the readings are lost, it has no memory display of the last reading like many sensors. I'm guessing it's for the flush function, which makes pressure setting quick and easy, but always requires 2 hands, one to push the valve stem, the other to hold the gauge so it can be read.

I am very satisfied with this reliable and accurate pressure gauge. It's 0.2psi. inch and I think it's pretty stable. The quick connect valve fits snugly with minimal air loss and the hose allows me to hold the gauge and read the gauge without getting on my knees. I usually inflate the tires a little over what I want and then deflate them with the handy deflation button. The thick rubber boot on the sensor provides good protection from bumps and abrasions, and I can put it down on the pavement…

1. Reads in real time, this model has no hold function. Which I like because you can deflate and get real-time readings.2. The swivel head is very good. It fits snugly on the valve stem and does not leak.3. Seems very repeatable. I'm not sure, but due to the lack of anything else, I think I'll trust this one more than any other caliber I own.4. It's very sensitive, I can actually blow into the gauge and read 1.4psi on the display.5. A resolution of 0.2psi is more than adequate for street tires,
