Ideal for small pools!

This is the *ideal* gravel cleaner for small (2.5-6 gallon) tanks. I had one in the same size a few years ago, I gave it away and couldn't find another in the same size before. Doesn't drain too quickly, picks up gravel well. A++

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons

Fits my 5 gallon tank

Great for my Beta tank, very easy to use and really sucks up gravel. I feel like the suction is too strong so I barely get any water when I start. I think it's the perfect size for my 5 gallon tank and small enough to store easily!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Does not fit all

Fits my 10 gallon

Works well for my 10 gallon. I just put the bucket on one end and stick the tube in the tank. In my case, by vacuuming up some sand, you can remove the "gravel" or sand. Sometimes it doesn't always work that well, but most of the time it's great for water changes and light seabed cleaning.

  • Comfortable

Just what we needed for our tiny tank

We were looking for a tiny vacuum cleaner for our two small tanks - one 3 gallon, one 5 gallon, and medium sized vacuums suck half of that The water goes off so quickly that there is no time to clean the tank. That's exactly what we were looking for. It works great, it sucks well and it's small enough that we have time to clean the tank. We've been using it for a few months now with no problems. Very happy!

Ideal for tank cleaning

Makes my 10 gallon much easier to clean. Just make sure the water fills the straight hose and shake to get the water through the flexible hose and it will keep flowing through the suction. With a filter at the top of the hose, gravel is hardly picked up and the hose is long enough to reach a nearby bucket. I changed the substrate in the aquarium to sand and tried it out and am pleasantly surprised that it works great. Cleans the surface of the sand from fish waste.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

5 gallon mini size

I bought the mini size to use on a 5 gallon beta tank. It works well. For a particularly thorough cleaning you have to add water and vacuum again, but with regular water changes and a light vacuum cleaner that works great. I assume a mini vacuum works well for tanks of around 5-10 gallons. A few feet of hose is enough to safely fill a bucket on the floor from a bin on a bookshelf. The shake siphon worked well even when shaken vertically in a 5 gallon rectangular tank.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • So so

Simple and very very effective

I have to admit I was skeptical when I first received this product. Just dip the tube in the water and shake until water comes out? I don't need to squeeze the ball or worse? Yes of course. Then it worked! This is a great size for my small aquarium. It doesn't scare the fish and sucks up all the slime without harming the fish. Every now and then a small one may swim up, but I just pull the hose out and let the fish and water flow back into the tank. The fish is a bit confused but unharmed…

Pros
  • Large selection

Works well. in gravel cleaners

This was my first time using a gravel cleaner and some boy didn't give me the box or instructions. Of course, the boy couldn't get it to work properly, blaming the wrong instructions. ANYWAY, a simple YouTube search turned up lots of results and within minutes I had mastered the technique and the water was gushing out. A slight learning curve is required for inexperienced siphon users. To get most of the crap (and I mean crap) out of the gravel, give it a good stir to loosen any nasty things…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Reliability
