They work and come in many sizes, but if you .

They work and come in a variety of sizes, but if your faucet is old and rusty removing the components probably won't help you. On two old tub faucets with hot, diverting, and cold stems, I had to saw off two of the six stems to fit the standard deep flare as they weren't strong enough to remove the pieces without removing them.

Why not? in wrench sets

They get the job done and one less plumber's call. They pay for themselves the first time you need them. Why not at this price? UPDATE: 5/5/17 After using them around the house, I took them to Canada in my Sportsman camper. I've used them a few times for various camping jobs and was so glad I had them! The sockets are big and take up little space for ten tools! Again, they're worth their price and are becoming one of the most valuable additions to my toolbox.

Pros
  • power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • I'll add later

Well made, but the dimensions are not standard faucet nuts.

Well made for the purpose. There are no objections in this regard. However, I found that there was no one size that fitted my valve stem nut exactly and was forced to use a slightly larger bushing than required which then rounded off the edges of the nut. I had to give up and resort to using a vise directly on the nut itself to unscrew it. So, essentially, these sockets were useless. I don't know why the size was wrong. The nut I was trying to remove was installed almost 60 years ago so I think

Size does not fit: Hand tools

Is that metric or what? Too loose for nuts with sharp edges and especially nuts with beveled edges. I'm afraid of twisting while tightening because I think cheap metal just warps and doesn't tighten and/or round the nut. I spontaneously made a puck. I took a can of soda, cut off a strip, first smoothed it, then wrapped the gasket almost completely around the nut, covering all the edges and put the tool on top. Still free. Tried with double layer pad folded and laid flat. Still too loose. Folded

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Price piggy bank
