Mega Racer Headlights Replacement Headlight Review

My local auto parts store wanted to charge me $140 for a replacement bulb. I ordered these and got two for a lot less. I like the color of the lightbulb. The light is not yellow like the old bulbs.

I just installed them on a 2015 Ford Mustang because I was doing some work that required dent removal. (Yes the dent has to come off to replace the headlights) So I figured the best thing would be to just replace them for now. In the photo below, the drive side has a new bulb that appears to be bright. It's good for the price.

I waited a while before writing the review. One of my HID headlights failed and that seemed like a good deal because it's expensive. Let me just say you get what you pay for. It's fine now until I get better. I ordered diamond white and it doesn't look like BLUE in the pictures.

They are a very light blue shade and I personally prefer them. Super bright and easy to install on your A7. Remove the wheel from the side of the replacement lamp. Remove approximately 8 screws from the insert and fold it back. Access and replace the bodywork, flip everything else, put the wheel back in place, easy.

Although not as bright as the originals, these lamps produce a beautiful blue and white projection. Easy to install and very well packaged. I had them after a few months and they have faded a bit but are still going strong. For the price and the power of persuasion, I would recommend them for a quick fix. If you want to brighten up your current lights I would suggest getting a more expensive bulb or a real one.

One of the two lightbulbs is broken - it burns for 5 minutes and goes out. I switched the bulb to the other side and the problem is with the bulb. They are about 40% dimmer than my existing seven year old HIDs in my Mustang GTI with a lux meter so I could easily compare the brightness of the two beams and the older standard HIDs put out 40% more lumens on my lux meter than these new bulbs.

If you don't want to read the full review it's worth buying these if you don't want to replace a standard $150 lightbulb at local stores. Load. They have a little more blue than I'm used to, but not as much as most blue cast cars. A standard replacement bulb costs $150. I replaced one about a year ago and the other worked as expected. Unfortunately I bought these headlights for my 2015 CLA 45 AMG a few months ago. I never put them on because I didn't have time to replace the headlights on the car. Tied up today to put headlights on the car. One fit perfectly and the other didn't. I tried both sides to find it was a faulty light and it didn't fit. I didn't have a headlight and I knew HID bulbs would be expensive. Money is tight right now so I decided to buy something cheaper and hope they last at least for a while. They arrived quickly and were well packaged. Tuesday afternoon I installed them in my Cherokee. Installation was easy. They fit perfectly. They were a very light cold blue.
