My 2.5 year old son has a very high instep and wide feet. New Balance shoes seem to be the only ones that fit him, and don't cost $50 or more for a pair that he'll outgrow in a few months. We can't fully fit his foot in most shoes, let alone cover or zip up his toe. I ordered them in size X and his legs fit easily.
