Very easy to use on exhaust and emissions

Worked great. I had a broken bolt on my exhaust, I put it back on, tightened the bolt and now that annoying exhaust leak is gone. will buy again in the future

Pros
  • Spares
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Prepare for drilling and tapping

Great idea, works great, very poor workmanship. The clamps are cast iron and so poorly made that they don't accept the included bolts cleanly, even to the point of breaking. So get ready with new boots and a 3/8x16 tap.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Requires socket

Wrong set of fasteners

The fasteners supplied (bolt and set screw) were one size larger than screwed into the clamp. They look like 7/16" and the threaded hole in the clamp is 3/8". I had to go to Lowe to buy new gear. I'll try new material - if it doesn't work I'll come back and revise my review. Very poor quality control.

Pros
  • Hangers, clamps and flanges
Cons
  • Minor problems

Clamp screw broken!

Clamp fits well and seems like a good fix for a broken exhaust bolt. However, the bolt head and lock nut broke off right at the yoke, so there's no way to pull the bolt out and replace it without cutting it off. Before it broke the resistance was average so I had no idea the bolt was starting to fail. I'm not sure if there is enough space to cut it out, so I'm still wondering how to solve this new problem.

Pros
  • Exhaust and Emissions
Cons
  • Out of date

This device is well designed but little known. O'Reilly's stocks a variant of this tool, while NAPA only stocks it in their catalog. I was told at my local NAPA store that they have never seen one and no NAPA store in the US sells this item - special order only plus shipping. Too bad it's one of those tools that will save you if you break a bolt while trying to detach the exhaust manifold from the catalytic converter flange, for example. If you do such a thing, the alternatives are bleak and…
