A great product that spoils a few design flaws a bit

Great little toy. I took a star for a couple of questions. Insufficient screen brightness for darker titles and poor audio output. Flashier titles like the cartoon Mario series look right, while titles like Resident Evil, Castevania, and old NES game downloads are too lackluster to fully appreciate. I know Nintendo has limited the brightness to save battery life, but they should let the user decide what's best for them. You can always use a connected device to avoid low battery life when the…

Great version of an already great device

I've been playing Nintendo games since 1988 when my parents first bought me a Nintendo Entertainment System. We've had our ups and downs in that time (virtual boy I'm looking at you) but overall I find their kit a delight. First it was a present for my wife. I had a Black Stock 3DS some time after launch and love it. Having used this system for Kid Icarus: Uprising and Star Fox 64 3D, I can say that the system has been improved in almost every way. Big improvement over the original 3DS with few flaws

I bought this after receiving the 3DS from launch day. I bought it mainly because many 3D games have trouble drawing objects large enough (like Animal Crossing bugs that are sometimes only a few pixels wide) and very difficult to see on small screens. Another issue with the original 3DS is that the shoulder buttons can be awkward to use due to the size of the system.
