$8 is much better than the $20 Sennheiser. I only needed this to connect an old pair of large 1/4" studio headphones to my work computer for listening to music while I work. I move it around the pile. Mine stops. I will say that my 1/4" pin doesn't fit snugly in the adapter and if any weight is pulled on it it might come straight out. So I don't recommend it for runners. But for my purposes it's perfect and that for one great price.

I needed headphones from a semi-professional camcorder to chunky professional headphones. (which still uses a larger plug). I record commercial video and set it to extremely high value and reliability, no connection issues. I absolutely can't stand being distracted by weak connections when trying to interview someone. (or something else in the field.) A year later this connection gave me no problems. It's not really a high wear situation, but it's a field job with the cable shaking and tugging…

This is what I've noticed over the past few months using this adapter, the tendency is gradually developing to come loose from the 3.5mm jack more and more easily. It does a great job of allowing my pair of Fostex to fit the laptop and does a great job of not putting much pressure on the headphone jack.
