This is a good unit.

I have had this player for over 6 years. He died with error H07, but still I'm happy with his work. I had a Sony and a couple of Philips and the picture quality and features were on par with the Sony and sometimes even better. Sony died to me twice and didn't have that many features. I find the reviews here unfair to the device. There are people who complain that after 5-6 years of use the device dies!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Minor problems

Mine still works

I use it almost exclusively to play Netflix DVDs that I rent. Usually about one DVD a week, but sometimes two and sometimes less than one a week. I also didn't use it for about 5 months (but not all at once) during its lifespan when I was away, moving or abroad. I think I bought it the year it came out (2004?). It read all DVDs fine except for two really badly damaged Netflix discs. But it was the fault of the previous tenants. style is fine. It is black. What can you say. Impossible to see…

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Useless features

Very reliable and durable device.

I bought this Panasonic DVD-RV32 brand new and it is still serving our family well. It was the first we've ever owned. It continues to function just as it did the day it was unpacked some ten years ago. The original remote works perfectly. It loads faster than the newer Panasonic DMR-ES20 DVD burner we have, so it gets the lion's share of usage. I have no complaints about the device. The DVD-RV32 never failed except when trying to play a very badly damaged disc. This quality record is typical…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised
