Positioner Bad Fish

I used this to calm my Pixy Hawkfish. I just added that he terrorized my Melabarus wrasse. After about 5 days of isolation, his aggression is tamed and all of my tankmates coexist

Excellent purchase! in Fish & Aquatic Animals

This breeder works great! My female guppy gave birth to guppy brood and I was able to place the surviving juveniles in the rearing box. It worked very well and we continue to raise the babies for four weeks.

Seal the vents with hot glue

To prevent small juvenile fish (like my Endlers pictured) from swimming through the side vents, I sealed them with hot glue. Water can still flow through the top vents. With this modification, this is a great product!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Doesn't work on Fry

Was very disappointed with this product and returned it. The young could swim right out of the sides and were eaten by other guppies. I would not recommend this for guppies to give birth to all of their young that will be eaten as soon as they swim out of the boxes.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Ok

Adheres to aquarium glass Excellent!

The suction cups on this grow box stick surprisingly well to the glass wall of the aquarium. I used this to isolate the fish eggs from the rest of the tank and it worked great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the lid of the grow box. It is very easy to lift and open; Noisy fish can easily open the lid.

Guppy Fry run away easily!

Purchased on the recommendation of other reviews. We had our first batch of juveniles and they immediately escaped through the side vents into the main tank. There is no point in burdening the mother in the parenting box if we cannot even support the young. We ended up buying a grow net and attaching the net to the outside of this container as a quick fix. I would keep looking if using it for guppies.

Cichlid fry can swim sideways straight

I like this product as a fish clinic or time out but as a brooder it is totally useless. The grille in the bottom floats unless you push it down with a rock or something, the lid doesn't stay on unless you push it down - and it's said to be cichlid-compatible - to even accommodate the 3-inch -To create fish I had to take out the central baffle. The worst part was my incubator spat out its fries which fell through the grate into the lower compartment as expected and then to my horror swam…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Not what I expected

Purchased to keep guppy babies. It was supposed to be with suction cups but there weren't any, but now it will float if partially supported by an artificial plant. The plastic grid separating the top and bottom halves is non-removable so there is no way to remove food etc that falls through it to the floor. The removable lid is difficult to grab when wet, but needs to be removed to allow small bits of food to get on it. Since Mama isn't in the tank, it doesn't need a divider, but I can't remove
