Broken and Cheap Quality

I'll start by saying I love Speakman products. This is the fourth showerhead I've bought from them, but the first is a hose + manual, the rest is traditional style. One of the things I love about Speakman is the very robust and almost commercial quality of their products. So when it came time to buy a handheld showerhead for my clawfoot bath, I was excited to try these. I was disappointed. I have owned this house for almost seven years and have changed 4 shower heads in that time. None of them broke, only none of them took a good shower, and my shower is my sanctuary. This is the only place where I have a high probability of getting 10 minutes to myself. I bought it after looking at another high pressure device and the reviewer mentioned that he wished he had spent a few bucks more to get a Speakman. Top of the line. Improved product. The pressure reducer does not have to be removed.

I'm not sure if the negative reviews are for the same product. Packaging: talking OEM packaging; thick construction paper. The item inside is in turn wrapped in protective paper. Instructions included. Sanitary tape included. Bracket: metal. Feels strong and heavy. The instructions say to tighten the strut with a wrench, which tells me it's the strongest, heaviest plastic I've seen if it's not metal. But it's metal. The description says the same.
