Good light, cannot be installed without modifications.

As mentioned in other reviews, it is very difficult to install. After wrestling with this for a while, I went to the grinder and lined up the contact on the adapter as shown. This made the installation very easy. I removed just enough so I had a flat surface. You can also do the same thing with sandpaper or even a nail file, but it will take longer. There is no need to remove the jig as others have mentioned when putting this piece down. It's bright, it works, but I got 3 stars because of the…

  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Difficult to install dual component bulbs

Purchased to replace the bulbs in our van reading lights. They consist of two separate parts: a small round part that rotates where the bulb fits and a light that attaches to the round part with two pins. It's almost impossible to install the lights if you put them together first, and it's only slightly easier to line up the pins and holes if you insert the round piece into the light and then try to line up the pins with the holes. Also, we have one of those lanterns that falls apart every time

Snap-On Universal Replacement Part

FIRST BENEFITS - These bulbs are bright, inexpensive, and use significantly less power than the incandescent bulbs they are designed to replace. and the base is not actually attached to the lamp except for the friction pins. If you are using them in an RV you may want to epoxy them to hold them in place. These lamps are smaller in diameter and slightly taller than the original. When visible, these bulbs have a distinctive and different look that may not be for everyone. If you're looking to…

Best to remove the lamp from the ceiling during installation

We were almost ready to return this product as we could not fit the base into the lamp. Finally, we unscrewed the entire lamp from the ceiling and were able to connect the base and lamp to it. It's not about that light, it's about how the lamp is arranged. After we did that, it only took a few minutes to replace the old burned out lightbulb. (Removing the entire bulb from the ceiling is easy - just remove two screws. This new LED bulb is much brighter and won't overheat or burn out since it's…

Broken camper lamp

Purchased to replace the standard over bed reading lamps in a camper van. From the product description it is not clear that they consist of two parts. The lamp and the base, and that you push part of the bulb into the base and then install it in the socket. I'm sure this is done so that the bulbs of the same type can be fitted to many different bases, BUT THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR RV USE. #1. The RV jumps down the freeway and the plug (lightbulb) has no chance of staying in place, and #2. This…

Note they are two piece

Nowhere in the photos or in the description have I seen that these are two component bulbs. Basically it's a 2 pin bulb with an adapter. They are also much shorter than my 1383 bulb so they sit very far in the reading light over my RV bed. It is very difficult to catch this small bulb in the socket. It took a few tries because you're basically guiding it with your fingertips and there's nothing to grab or pinch. Also, the color temperature isn't as white as daylight like we'd like. It's listed…

Amazing light quality, very good CRI!

I love it! They are really very bright and the color temperature of 4000K is ideal for reading and reproduces colors in magazines perfectly. At 4000k the light looks almost the same as the daytime sun at 3pm, it even led me to believe I once left my window blinds up when I saw light coming around a corner! The 3W version is impressively bright and makes me feel online without compromise! 3000k is great for general home lighting and while not much higher than 2700k the difference in color…
