Doesn't drag. Lighting Controls and Modifiers

Bought two to save weight when travelling. Forget it. None of them will tighten or hold a standard 40 inch steel bar. Maybe for amateur rigging for a while, but not for professional rigging. Save your money and use the metal handle.

Pros
  • It is easy to use and allows you to adjust the height, angle and other positions of your equipment.
Cons
  • Fits

Better than I expected

Yes, it's all plastic. But the molding is good and the clamps can be tightened to give a good grip. They are not suitable for rough everyday use, but for a layman like me they are enough for a while. In my opinion good value for money. Jerry

Pros
  • Closes tightly with less effort; Easy to install and use
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

There was some difficulty using this mount to replace one.

There was some difficulty using this mount to replace the mount that came with my original lighting gear. Just make sure the metal tube of your braces is the same diameter and fits properly. It's a lot stronger than the original bracket that came with my lamp which is a plus.

Pros
  • Retaining Head Clamp Connects the extension to the light tower and holds larger equipment such as boom arms in place.
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Works perfectly. Much better than other options.

So many tripods and flashlight mounts come with TERRIBLE clamps that don't work at all - they slip on the tripod mount, they slide on the flashlight mount, they wobble, they're unstable or secure. This type of clamp MUST be supplied with every boom/light stand combination. Don't mess with other junk. Get it and be happy!

Pros
  • This grip head is specially designed to hold nets and tarps mounted on centennial stands or butterfly frames.
Cons
  • weak

Doesn't pull best in controls and lighting modifiers

Bought two of these to try and reduce travel weight. Forget it. None of them will tighten or hold a standard 40 inch steel bar. Maybe for amateur rigging for a while, but not for professional rigging. Save your money and use the metal handle.

Pros
  • This gripper head is specifically designed to hold mesh and flat surfaces mounted to centenary posts or butterfly frames.
Cons
  • Update Availability
