Description of Tough 1200D Snuggit Turnout Hunter Horses ... Horse Blankets & Sheets

1200 Denier Poly, heavy material strength, recommended for horses that may bite or chew on blanket or horses turned out with a companion or in groups. Material may tear or rip if caught on a nail, rough fencing or thorns from bushes. Easily adjustable neck to create a custom fit. 200g Polyfill provides medium warmth and protection from wind and rain. 210 Denier Poly Lining prevents rubbing and helps to keep the coat shiny while preventing hair, shavings, and straw from sticking to the inside of the blanket. Waterproof, coated outer shell with taped seams and seamless spine repels water to keep your horse dry.

I love this blanket: Horses

I love this blanket! Tough-1 makes great blankets and this one is no exception. Great fit, love the Snuggit neck and it keeps my horse warm and dry even if he decides to stand out in the rain.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Couldn't resist riding

It seemed like a very good blanket, but two buckles broke completely in the first week. I don't even mean it fell off, I mean the metal actually fell apart. Very disappointed with this duvet with the quality of the hardware.

  • I held my fists

Staples break leaving sharp edges

I have previously bought Snuggit Tough 1 blankets and have been very happy with them. We bought 3 more this winter. On every blanket purchased this winter, one or more staples snapped in half, leaving sharp edges each time. Did they buy their clips from a new source? I will not buy from them again until the issue is resolved. The rest of the blanket is very nice and sturdy but there are too many broken fasteners to be a fluke and not worth injuring any of our horses. Pierced with a sharp end…

Good for lively horses in the snow!

Bought this blanket for my growing thoroughbred (now 5). Known for being rough on blankets, he loves running around his paddock, rolling in the mud, kicking his feet and standing in the rain for HOURS non-stop. We live in rainy Washington DC so it's important to make sure your duvet is completely waterproof, especially in winter when temperatures drop and it rains. This blanket has held up perfectly without tearing and has kept my purebred cat dry and warm! I love the panels and the ability to…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

You get what you pay for

I had high hopes for this duvet as it is well made. The 1200D fabric feels very durable and the front closures are great so you only have to adjust the length of the straps once. The shoulders rise nice and high to provide a good fit for my wide OTTB chest. But the "Snuggit" feature for the neck is completely useless unless you're trying to tighten the top (you can't loosen it to make the neck hole bigger). in heavy rain he was soaked to the skin up to his chest and shoulders. Most of the time…
