I've never used a cooling towel so I have nothing to compare it to. A neighbor suggested I take it for a walk in the summer to cool off (since the gym was closed due to COVID I started running 3 miles). I don't see it cooling me any more than any other wet towel draped around your neck. The only advantage is the relatively low weight. I shook it, flipped it, did everything suggested and I don't think it did anything at all.

I thought it was some kind of rope with a coolant that activates when wet. But it's about the size of a scarf. However, it does help keep you cool. But it does get warm when worn, unless you're in front of a fan, in which case it's like an air conditioner around your neck, which is nice. However, it must remain moist. In my boundless wisdom I ordered not one, not two, not three, but four cooling towels all in one box. So I've spent the last few weeks comparing them. Then I settled on a wet terry towel, which I had to compare to cooling towels. Bottom line, all five work roughly the same.
