I do feel like this pencil has changed over the years. I bought this years ago and while it was somewhat stiff then, it's hard now with less pigment payoff than before. You have to press down quite a bit to get color. I also can't use this to line my waterline as even the lightest shade is a little too dark/ yellow for me. I used to get the jigsaw puzzles by Crocodile Creek and found them rather expensive. This puzzle was our 2nd from this company. The first puzzle had several pieces missing, but they are a responsible company and made it right. This puzzle had all the pieces and 2 extras that didn’t go with it, so from a quality control aspect they might need to step it up a little.
