Review on Z Z-EDGE 32" Ultra Slim 4K IPS Monitor with FreeSync, Flicker Free, HDMI, Built-in Speakers by John Herrera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for those who want to enter the world of 4k monitors

Brightness is good, 300 nits. The color seems accurate but I'll calibrate it with my Spyder5 when I get around and update my review so others can spot the difference if there is any. (Updated with calibration and monitor didn't really need much calibration. Factory calibration went pretty well). All I had to do was adjust r, b or g from 50 to 49 and let the software do the rest for the calibration. Built-in speakers that reproduce really good sound. Maybe because it's on the wall, but I'm very happy with it. The monitor menu settings are your basic brightness, contrast and color. There is a FreeSync switch, as well as sharpness and black level. I will say that they did a very good job on the packaging and protected the monitor from front and back damage that does not pierce the box. minuses. When I first turned it on, I was greeted by a blinding white image with the logo of the company that made the monitor. (I highly recommend leaving the brightness at 60 vs 100 for better comfort). The HDMI cable that came with the kit smelled really bad. (I think the factory plastic smell on this cable was stronger than it should have been). The HDMI cable was too short so I had to use another cable I had as a spare that supports 4k resolution. HDR looks terrible on Windows on this monitor, but I think turning on HDR automatically in the monitor settings helps. However, since the max nits is 300, don't expect HDR content to look amazing. The stand has a cheap feel and just slides in so there's no screw to secure it, but it holds up very well. Just don't hold it by the base and be very careful. This is a very solid stand though. After playing around with the settings, hooking it up and setting it up I would say this is a very good budget monitor. The picture is very clear. I set Windows to 200% and everything is still nice and clear. On HDMI, the default color profile is 4:2:2. Maybe it's just an AMD GPU issue on HDMI, not sure, but it's easy to fix. Also had to correct Hz from 59.96 to 60 Hz. I highly recommend this monitor.
