The best blades and the best clippers for professionals

As a professional groomer, I only use Andis clippers and clippers in my shop. I use 7 specifically for heavily mated dogs. Andis has a good guide that shows you blades that are recommended for specific breeds. Be sure to use their blade care spray and cooling spray so you don't burn your pet. Blade care prolongs the life of your blades. Remember, the smaller the blade number, the longer the fur will be cut. Oil the blades after each use to prolong their life and wipe off the oil each time…

Pros
  • Perfect for a small home
Cons
  • There are downsides

8 1/2 Giant Schnauzer & Standard Poodle

I have a Standard Poodle and a Giant Schnauzer. I cut her hair myself to keep costs down. I used an 8 1/2 blade. I used to be smaller, but because of that the Schnauzer got pimples that looked like boils, which made her very itchy. Size 8 1/2 doesn't irritate her skin and still looks short enough. My Standard Poodles look neat and trimmed to an 8 1/2 and I don't have to fiddle with different sized blades. The blades get hot after a few minutes of shaving and you have to be careful not to burn…

I would like to be contacted

I have almost 25 of these blades that broke in the same place. I've been using this brand for over 10 years and they broke in the same spot last year. This must be a manufacturer problem. I'm a professional groomer and I just can't explain it. I understand this will happen if you drop them. However, as soon as you put a guard on the blade, the tooth will break in the same spot on most of them. I want to be contacted I'm a little upset, it's over $500 for the blades.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Using the right shear blade makes a world of difference!

We have 3 mini schnauzers. If we took her, it would be expensive to take care of her. So we bought an Andis clipper and tried a few different blades on it. I didn't like it very much. We were mad at how hard it was to cut them, it took forever and we almost said @#$% but decided to try a different blade. We tried a tooth with a size 7 crack and it was perfect! Works great and fast! We do not do fancy haircuts or anything like that as we are not professional hairdressers. All dogs are the same…

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • Appearance

Andis clippers and blades used to be among the best. Unfortunately, among groomers like me who use them on a daily basis, there are rumors that the quality has gone down lately. I've noticed that the teeth on the Andis blades chip excessively on new blades compared to older blades and other brands. When I use 15 and 30 blade guard combs lately (new combs in good condition) the teeth snap off almost immediately :(. Andis loses a lot of their market as a result, and the plastic blade drives they…
