Although I can't verify, the tool seems accurate. for which dimension. It seems cheaply made, some holes are not cut very well leaving some imperfections in the metal.

What good is a gauge if it's inaccurate? My digital caliper measured 12 gauge by 0.15 inch wide. Standard wire gauge 12 gauge. 82". Using the same caliper, a 12 gauge THHN solid wire sample measures .80". I took 12 gauge THHN and 14 gauge THHN wire samples. 16 ga slot. Avoid this item.
