Description of Dow Corning Ring Silicone Lubricant

Rubber and plastic O-rings, gaskets and seals. Sealant for vacuum and pressure systems. Chemical barrier coating. Damping medium for dash pots in electrical and electronic equipment. Lubrication for control and pressure plug valves, water softener and faucet valves. Sealant for outdoor equipment (also shipboard) subject to washing and harsh environmental exposure: meters, electrical service entrance and underground connections. Used as an anti-stick and sealant for transformer gasket and equipment enclosures. It prevents gaskets from sticking to metal and resists weathering and water washout.

Viscous and thick suitable for industrial lubricants

I bought this by mistake thinking it was a 55 o-ring grease which is much thinner and slippery. However, this grease is very similar to Honda's silicone brake pin grease, which costs over $50 a tube. I use it where it gets hot and during some serious head work on my Acura TL (J32A3) I've used it to hold cotter pins on the valve stem.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Excellent High Temperature Silicone Grease

I like the stiffness and thickness of this grease so it doesn't run at normal vehicle temperatures. It is often used on my Seadoo Jetski. Being silicone it can be used on rubber etc unlike most lubes. It was in town so delivery in one day which is what I wanted but I don't know who screwed it up but it ended up being two days.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
