Speed โ€‹โ€‹Demon! Works great on development machine

I upgraded from 1st Gen Intel Core i7-920 to 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8600 and the difference is like night and day. I use my computer for software development, not gaming, but I'm very happy with its speed. I used to have constant slowdowns and pauses, although I'm not sure if this was caused by the HDD, the CPU, or a combination of both, but now when using this new CPU along with a 1TB SSD, there is there no stuttering anywhere, on any program. I have a three monitor setup with no dedicatedโ€ฆ

Bad cooler makes it look like i5 8400

stock cooler is very bad. It can only reach 3.6GHz on a multi-core processor and 3.8GHz on a single core when the motherboard limitation is removed. With a third-party cooler, 4.2GHz is achieved without breaking security restrictions on the motherboard. My motherboard is server grade and has voltage and temperature limits by default. When gaming, you have to consider the extra heat from the GPU, so the stock cooler can limit you in modern games, which is why I bought this CPU. In terms ofโ€ฆ

LOUD Fan Electronics

Works as expected, works great on my Gigabyte H370n motherboard, handles all the tasks I've used before BUT THE FAN IS SO LOUD. I don't know if I've come across a defective product in this regard, but this fan is annoyingly loud even when idle. Every time I open the web browser - whhIIIIRRRRRR. Every time I run a simulation in MATLAB - WIIIRRRRRRRRRR. My GPU fan is quiet, my PSU fan is quiet (almost never runs anyway), even the lame fan that came with my case is quiet. But the Intel fan isโ€ฆ

Perfect match for NVidia 1060 GPU

Forget about overclocking. This processor kills. Pairs perfectly with the NVidia 1060 GPU. Excellent single-threaded performance is still essential for today's games.
