good at reducing phosphate levels.

Great product. It reduced my phosphate levels from 2 to 0.25 after 2 days, but my sanctuary was a mess because it had powder in it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

Recommend this for air pumps

Phosban has helped me get rid of those nasty hair algae in my tank. I can enjoy my tank again! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I started vacuuming the substrate more diligently when I launched this product at the same time. So I can't say which helped more. Probably a combination of both. In any case, the algae will disappear!

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Reliable

This is the best medium, just change it regularly and save.

In my opinion this is the best carrier in combination with a reactor, just change it regularly and keep a small flow of water through it. I have never had problems with water discoloration from explosive dust in my aquariums. My guess is that people getting red water and dust are abusing the product.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • long delivery time

I've been using this stuff for a long time. .

I have been using this material for a long time. It's never worked particularly well for me, but I keep buying it to keep my phosphate levels down. I still had a problem with green hair algae. Instead, I switched to phosphate remover supplements. I would also like to point out that I used the material in the media pocket in the media tray of my 16 gallon cube. Results may vary when using a reactor.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Tape

So far, so good. best air pump

It was recommended to me over SeaChem PhosGuard because it doesn't contain aluminum like PhosGuard. I've only been using it for a month, but so far I like it. Only time will tell how many times I'll have to change it. Just make sure you rinse it well as it will produce a brown powder and can cloud the aquarium. I'm only giving it four stars for now because I don't know how long it will last before needing to be replaced.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Negative

Required Product. Best in Aquariums Pumps and Filters

Hair algae in most aquariums are caused by phosphate leaching from rock and sand or unfiltered city water. PhosBan is a very good product to get rid of phosphate and stop algae growth. This can take several months as rocks and sand take time to shed their last phosphate. On average about 3 months, and if you are feeling really bad, for example a measurably higher amount of hair algae. absorbed---you may need to change the fosban every few weeks. Note: It works best not in the supplied bag…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • It's OK

Better than Rowaphos, very happy with Phosban

I've been using Rowaphos for years and always thought it had a very short life cycle, so one day I re-read the instructions and realized I was using it incorrectly. I've always rinsed the Rowaphos well with reverse osmosis water to remove all red rust from the backing, but the instructions say it shouldn't be rinsed and that red only stains the water for about a day. Well against my best judgment I went ahead and used it without washing up, what a disaster; The tank blushed for almost 10 days…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
