The ones I received look the same as the picture. They still look real and look good, but only upside down. There are also screw slots on the back, but I was hoping for a better attachment method, like industrial grade double-sided sticky pads or something. I really don't want to drive screws into the vinyl siding for the fake camera. Used mounting tape. light enough. :) Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

I'm good at DIY and I do some complex projects, so I thought it would be cool if there was a way to hang them up. I was very wrong. The drilling templates weren't quite right, so the screw heads didn't fit in the holes and it got worse. The most enjoyable part of the whole installation process was when I gently smashed them up with a hammer before throwing them in the bin (disclaimer: this step was not part of the actual installation guide).

A year later these fake burglar alarm lights, installed outdoors but protected from the elements by a patio cover, still look serious and formal. The friend installed these lights on the side of the air conditioner along with a burglar alarm sticker and motion sensor underneath. At night, this fake CCTV camera's red pulsing light is visible from the ground floor, and combined with the motion-activated lighting, it looks fabulously authentic.

I'm surprised at how convincing they look. I didn't buy them to replace real cameras, just to give the impression that there are more cameras in the house. They are great for ceiling corners in basements facing windows or large rooms where they face a window. A flashing red light might make them think twice, but I'd still recommend taking real safety precautions first. In addition, they are easy to install. Looks like the original, a little chunky but the red flashing light is a great feature. It looks big but doesn't weigh much. I put them on my windows in my apartment and so far they are great. Turning off the batteries this way is inconvenient, but I hope the batteries last. You should probably use used alkaline batteries as they are outdoors in inclement weather. You are perfect. I have a group of teenagers who drove into my house with my son and one of the brats stole some pills from my bathroom. So I bought 6 of these and put them around the house and bathroom, took a picture with my phone where I had it installed and showed them they thought I had complete security and that it worked.
