I use these fans behind 1U rackmount gear that need a little more air. Squirrel cage fans meet all requirements very well and let more air through. At the lower speeds I use, the fans are pretty quiet. As you increase the speed you will get more noise, but these fans will move A LOT of air in return. I just installed them so I don't know if they will last long. They're rated for 50,000 hours and if I get even half the continuous use I'll be very satisfied. <fingers crossed>

I got this to improve airflow around my fridge. It brings some noise into my kitchen. They should be twice as quiet. 42 ± 10% dBA is misleading. That's easily 50dBA or more. But it lets a lot of air through. Plugs into a regular outlet. Easily attaches to a wall or closet. Everything was great except for the noise. I'm in my living room and I can hear it from here. So I wouldn't recommend buying this for air circulation around your fridge.

Was looking for a high speed fan and confused high flow with high speed (pressure). This fan doesn't spin much faster than a typical computer fan, but its design and casing allow it to move a lot of air. This is not a high speed high flow fan, it is a low speed high flow fan. This creates very little air pressure at the outlet. I wanted to make something that could blow dust out of my computer, like a high pressure air gun, but I don't think this fan can handle it. Very happy with this little fan. I had an issue with one of my marine amps on my boat overheating. The console doesn't interfere much with airflow to keep the amps cool during our summer months here in Florida. I decided to try this inexpensive fan as an experiment to see if it could solve my overheating issues. Of course it keeps my amp out of overheat protection mode! I was able to hook it up via an unused extra switch on the dash so I could turn it on and off depending on audio usage. I only
