Teaching my son how to use "old" cameras. Our original camera body was damaged; it made for an inexpensive replacement.

This camera is not the one specified in the instructions. It's hard to understand and he doesn't like to work below 50 degrees.

I sent it back as it was sticky and not as the seller described but the seller did everything right. The camera itself would be great new, I thought. That was the guy I wanted. I'm sorry it didn't work.

This is my first entry-level camera and while it was great to learn and use, there were definitely some issues. The company that sold me this camera said they had problems. has been tested and works perfectly (purchased camera). However, when I received it and started using it, an error message flashed on the display and I had to press the shutter button twice to take another shot. More annoying than anything. Other than that, this is a great camera for the price.

Let's start with the durability. I've had this camera for two years now and even though I've dropped it, left it in the sun, gotten it wet (with sea water!) and done a hundred other things with it, it still works great. It is impressive. But you buy a camera for the image quality, and the Elan II excels in that regard.
