Product looks good but WRONG COLOR

I've only had this product for a few days but so far it's great. I particularly like the arrangement of the sockets, which makes it possible to connect several power supplies at the same time. I give the product itself 5 stars. I had to deduct 1 star because the picture shows a green device (and I wanted it to match the color of my Christmas tree twine etc) and I got a black device. The functionality is the same and we'll be using it year round so it's not the end of the world but buying direct

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons

Bought many years ago - never thanked as much as this week! A tree has fallen and cut off only part of the electricity supply from home - I've found that's a lot worse than just being unlucky and left in the dark during a storm. Since only part of the main line was switched off, there were always dangerous surges that blew out several light bulbs. as well as small and large devices - the total damage should be in the thousands. It also caused burns/melting/small fires to several of our surge…

Great design - yes even for renewal

This is how extension cords should be designed in this century. This eliminates almost all problems with large wall warts taking up 2 or even 3 spaces on a typical power strip. It's still ugly when everything is plugged in, but I don't know anyone who shows their extension cord. It's very functional, allows all plugs to be used (provided you have at least 3 non-warts) and offers surge protection. I was able to replace 2 strips of these because there was no more connector overlap (and I have an…

Looks weird, but with good reason

Electronic power supplies, also known as "wall warts", come in a variety of shapes, sizes and angles. The unusual shape of this plug helps avoid conflicts between the different power adapters you plug into it. Similarly, this piece's rectangular plug also reduces conflicts between the outlet and nearby furniture. If you connect a power source to this jack, you can press this switch and turn off the power. (Engineer tip: use a recessed rocker switch, or make tabs on either side of it.) This…

Very Good Product - Surge Protector

I bought this for a number of reasons and it works in every way. First I need a flat fork as it's behind our bed. I have a side/flat plug for my wife's surge protector and this goes straight down. So both fit well and the bed can be (almost) flush with the wall. Next, I wanted the end caps to have good spacing to accommodate the wall warts. I keep a phone charger by my bed and sometimes I plug other things into it. Most of the ports on this device are separated far enough that the ports on the…

My favorite extension cord

I inherited my first extension cord from a company I worked for about 10 years ago. I just found his layout works so well. It is still small and compact like a power strip, but the arrangement of the sockets in 4 different levels and in different orientations allows for a very flexible connection of standard plugs and transformers. With a splitter, you often can't use all the sockets because if you connect a transformer to one, the others will be blocked. This allows you to plug the transformer

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost never
