DOA Electrically Terrible

Dead on Arrival. Also, the battery holder doesn't list polarity, so installing batteries is a 50/50 deal. Battery polarity information was not found on the device body, packaging, instructions, or website. Checking to see if the circuit has power and making sure there is no voltage could result in electrocution or worse. Spend a little more for something safe and secure.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Works great but comes with 2 dead and bloated batteries.

One star deducted as it works well but comes with two dead and swollen batteries that need internal cleaning. Irony = The instructions say "batteries not included". Buy a pair of LR44s from the pharmacy before you arrive. They are NOT designed for circuits. The battery powers the parking light, which illuminates to indicate passage. I use this to identify speaker wire and check for breaks.

Pros
  • Excellent build
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Excellent low voltage test lamps

Saw these on Instagram demonstrated by "pipefitter71" and found them incredibly useful for diagnosing intermittent problems with such systems as gas stoves and they were ! I don't know how I've survived so long without her. You can't build pilot lights at this price, that would be half the price. I might buy a few more to keep in different tool bags. I also see where they can be very helpful when troubleshooting automotive electronics, although that's not my area. My only complaint is that it…

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Very handy, compact tester

Very useful little tester. I work as a technician in the entertainment industry and wanted to find a way to check the integrity of lights, cables, etc. without having to carry a multimeter around with me all day. This little thing does the job. The bright red LED is clearly visible. My only problems so far have been: 1. The battery has come loose from the contacts a couple of times. It's held in place by a fairly flimsy plastic tab, and I've had an occasion or two where I thought the battery…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Negative result available
