Economical and reliable

I had to replace several devices from another manufacturer in a rented apartment after the expiry date had passed. These detectors are easy to install. Another benefit is that older CO2 detectors required 3 AA batteries while this unit only required 2.

Pros
  • handy
Cons
  • not sure

Rental Property Protection

Value for money in a 6-pack. I put them in my rental and appreciate the positioning instructions as they work at about knee height. Carbon monoxide is heavier than smoke and I didn't want to have combo carbon monoxide/smoke alarms as they have to be mounted at different heights.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Performance
Cons
  • Appearance

Date of manufacture more than a year ago.

It's a bit disappointing that I have a date of March 2018 and it's now May 2019. Since their standard lifespan is seven years, they are already missing a year. The price was good and shipping without the boxes was ok but the fire chief uses the date on the back to determine when they need to be replaced. Disappointed.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some issues

A must in every home

If you don't have carbon monoxide alarms in your home, INSTALL THEM NOW. We have a large new house with two stoves on two levels and found that one of them had failed and was starting to emit higher levels of carbon monoxide (still within the 'acceptable' range but above what we wanted) when we saw our mechanic called . Previously we didn't install these sensors, and now there are several of them on each level. They are easy to install, read and use.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
