Suitable for tripod 536, but not smaller than

This works great with my 536 CF sticks, but note that they cannot be used below a certain height. The 536's legs can be adjusted to drop very low, either by selecting the middle "protrusion" on the leg latches, or by removing the latches entirely to drop very low. At any of these settings, the legs are too wide for this spreader and will need to be removed.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Difficult to provide.

Despite the general quality of almost everything Manfrotto makes, this is not one of those products. Bought this to convert my 75mm center spinner tripod into a floor spinner. There are no dice. The straps that "attach" the legs to the device are actually pretty unreliable. The result is a flow distributor that dangles loosely, making fast, stable, and even deployment impossible. I had to send these back.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Embarrassed

All plastic unfortunately

Manfrotto was bought by another parent company, I've since seen a decline in their products which I've been using since the 90's. It is not a composite plastic case. I use it for my second tripod which is a VARIZOOM 100mm with a Manfrotto 509HD mounted on it. .FYI, don't email them, call NJ/NYC.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Helps, but there are disadvantages

I have Manfrotto 755XB and 755X tripod legs. These legs splay wide apart so the bottom braces keep the legs "smaller apart" and increase the overall height. My 755's legs have a center column, so the bottom brace makes it difficult to fold the tripod into the "stowed" position. So I have to remove the spacer at the end of the shoot. But I think it's still better to remove the expander so that the rubber bands don't loosen in the "stretched position". Cons: If you're moving while shooting…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
