Great for the Elderly Photo & Photo

I bought these binoculars for my 85 year old mother-in-law to help her see the birds outside her apartment window. Their lighter weight and smaller size are perfect for her and she was so happy to receive them along with a book describing all of the known birds of North America! I taught her how to use them while wishing I had a pair myself. Hm!?!

Beautiful, compact, worth the price

I really like how the eyepiece pivots away from the glass lens so the lashes don't leave oil on the lens. I've never had binoculars like this and it's a really nice feature. The only thing I would change is to somehow attach the eyepiece caps to the binoculars so they don't get lost, but we just drop them in the case when we shoot and the case is attached to the binoculars.

  • Hands-free operation

  • Almost never

Bright, clear and easy to use.

I bought a compact and lightweight Olympus Tracker 10x25 porro prism binoculars, got Revain fast delivery and a very good price. I have a set of 7x35 forever. I bought them mainly based on the reviews posted here. But now that I have it, my wife and I are amazed at how clear and bright the images are and how easy it is to focus. Additionally, these are small binoculars that are easy to carry but easily adjustable to fit different eye/face sizes. They are ideal for backyard bird watching, airโ€ฆ

I wish I had ordered these

I can't use them. I wanted a 10x pair for the car. My regular Fuji 10x70 are too heavy and unwieldy for this task. I've played around with focus, diopter, and intraocular adjustments for a long time, and there *no* nice place for me. Even when I'm standing still in a quiet place with the "best" setting I can, I spend about 10% of my time taking a binocular picture. Even so, edge distortion and blackout are significant. Opening or closing the eyecup extensions (which are low-friction and tooโ€ฆ

Pros
  • These are amazing
Cons
  • A bit torn

I was hooked on these binoculars for the first few seconds. You look great. They are nice to hold. They are light. They are well done. However, when I started using them, I found that they had a major design flaw, as I understand it: at maximum aperture, the distance between the centers of the two eyepieces is only 70mm, while the distance between my pupils is 74mm . -- in the upper part of the normal range for adult males, but not uncommon. This makes binoculars impossible for me as I can only

Bird watcher Over 50 years.

Hello believe me I'm talking about experience with Zeiss, Audubon, Swift, Kowa, I have a dozen binoculars from decades of bird watching. It seems to me that the technology has changed significantly from the porro prism to the roof prism. The clarity and optics are fantastic today. I go back to 1959 when I met Roger Tory Peterson (RIP). I carry binoculars in the car, on the motorbike, at home alone on the table. I wanted to try these little Olympus and to my surprise they are great. Lightโ€ฆ

Good binoculars at a good price

Nice little binoculars at an affordable price. I mainly use my compact binoculars to observe the moon and the animal world. The field of view is the size of 3 stars in Orion's belt, so you cannot see the entire constellation; but if you look at the moon you see the whole sphere. I don't like spending more than fifty dollars or so on binoculars because previous binoculars were either worn out or broken. Remember that Olympus Tracker binoculars have eyecups that rotate outward so your eyeballsโ€ฆ

Excellent compact binoculars

A lot of my comments on this review are based on a direct practical comparison of three 10x25 compact binoculars, Alpen PRO, Olympus Tracker (both bought here) and my Minolta Compact binoculars which I use for many years . Of the 3, I like the Alps the least. Yes, the wide viewing angle of 6.5 degrees is wider than the Minolta's 5.0 degrees and the Olympus's 5.3 degrees, but I did find some less than desirable features on the Alpen. First, I found it harder to get the eyepieces just the rightโ€ฆ
