Great design, flawed construction

Very disappointed. It's been less than a month and the screws holding the USB connector to the case fell out. There are no washers, the bolts are constantly turning. Buy something else

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Useless features

Awesome cooling pads and external fans

I have had a Zalman NC-1000 for many years and have found it to be a very good product except for a couple of issues: inadequate fan performance and relatively high noise levels with weak power. This cooler is MUCH better than the Zalman. There's a lot of airflow and it's so quiet. I like the simple design and it is very stable. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Requires a power outlet

The label below clearly says 12 volts and the internal fan is marked 12 volts, but the external power connector is only rated for 5 volts and is unmarked. 12 volts burn the card. When the fan is running on the nominal 12 volts, it runs much faster, but the cheap plastic case amplifies the fan's vibration and makes a lot of noise. When the fan is powered by your laptop's USB port, it runs so slowly that it's of little use. There are many laptop coolers at Revain that cost less and cool your…

Efficient but not great build quality.

After a few months one of the screws holding the USB input that powers the fan loosened and was gone which is a little annoying and the screws holding the left side of the whole thing together are closed lots of play for comfort. It's not incredibly solidly made, but it still works, albeit somewhat clumsily and effectively. I managed to play Fallout 4 without the troubling protests from my laptop. He has worked and is working for this purpose. I don't have a software or hardware method of…

Noisy, not suitable for sitting on a table, incorrect dimensions

I liked the simplicity of this design and the fact that it worked out that I could easily replace the fan in the future if needed. The design of this product is totally wrong. It's clearly designed to be mounted on a flat surface, but there's not enough room under the fan to draw in the air it needs to spin at the right speed. This puts a strain on the fan motor and causes a pulsing noise that is quite annoying. I tried stacking the whole thing on a few blocks so it can pull more air and the…
