This is a great tripod. It took several others before I found this one. The weight is perfect for my travel pack. I mean, the ideal 2.3 pounds is superior to the 3.12 pounds I wanted to carry around. It has a single locking ball head which is a bit tricky but they added planes on 2 axes which makes it really easy.
