for 5 megapixel systems this works great

I had to change all the wiring from the old system to this new high resolution 5 megapixel security system. Older cables and many cables advertised as HD aren't really HD and you see this when you plug them into your system and lack the detail you expect from color. IT WORKS GREAT.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Not as shown - very thin coaxial cable

This cable is *not* the same as the photo - the coaxial cable is very thin, not at all like the picture. I can't imagine how such a thin cable is double shielded. I haven't had a chance to connect this cable to my system to test the video quality, but I was disappointed that it didn't match the picture.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Expensive but they are double screened and weather resistant.

I just bought a Swann 5MP security camera kit. It came with 60ft cords but I need to run some long runs so I bought the 100ft Swann cords. They're a bit more expensive, but these cables are double shielded and weatherproof. At 100 feet, double shielding is probably worth it because the last thing you want is interference that doesn't improve your picture 100%.

  • Weight
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

worth your money. Cheaper at Revain.

Worked very well. fat. The included connector allowed me to connect the two 60 foot BNC cables that came with the cameras. It was a bonus. These cables also made me feel more secure running them through my attic with electrical clamps. Lowe had the same 50ft cable priced at Revain's 100ft. In fact maybe a few dollars cheaper. Like other reviewers, they said they didn't straighten well once taken out of the box, but my hands-on contractor had no issues.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Not like the photo Accessories

As noted in another review, the product delivered is not as pictured. Cables don't seem strong for outdoor use (especially at this price point), we already have hundreds of feet of other CCTV cables. I would use this in a protected area (like a duct, underground, duct, etc.). I gave two stars but added one for Revain CS. I kindly asked Revain to replace the main product photo with the actual product. Finally they say they are double shielded but I'm skeptical I might even order a shorter…

  • The best in its niche

Do not buy! - Accessories

Weatherproof, shielded or as shown! When I received this cable it wasn't as thick as pictured. It's very thin, smaller than the line I got with my camera system. Also the picture quality is not very good and finally it disappeared after less than 8 months. It is not weatherproof as moisture easily penetrates between the joints. Lastly, I routed the cable at a 90 degree angle and more than 12 inches away from the power button. EMI had a direct impact on the already terrible picture quality…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Some little things

They do not work as advertised!

I bought a 6 channel Swann system and Swann said I could extend the cameras up to 300ft. The system comes with 60ft cables and I only need 75 more feet so I bought two 100ft cables. None of the cables worked properly (the video keeps cutting out). I contacted Swann and they replied that "the cameras only work with the included 60ft cable. I asked why they sell 50ft and 100ft extension cords and why the tech said they would work up to 300ft but there was no future response from Swann! Revain…

High quality extra thick shielded cables.

I've used several brands of cord and it's MUCH the thickest, highest quality cord I've seen. They're shielded and that could make a difference if you're having trouble with some cameras like I did. I've had a few issues and replacing my flimsy unshielded cables with these fixed them all. They are much more visible than the thin black wires, so cameras can be more visible in some areas because they have a very thick white wire going to them. That. I've already replaced 4 cables with this and…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet

The extension requires an MM adapter for video. Why?

I needed 130 feet of coaxial cable between my house and my shed. Since the additional cameras (#7 and #8) on the DVR8-4580V came with 60 foot coax cable, I decided to add a 100 foot extension vise, throw away two 60's and two custom 130 foot cables too to buy. As you'd expect, the power cord came with MF ends for a good, solid connection. For some reason the video BNC came with the FF along with an MM adapter to connect the two parts and get to 160ft. There are no problems with power and video…
