It has plenty of pages and their thickness allows for the use of fountain pens without having to worry about bleed through. Well constructed, nothing has exploded and poked an eye out yet.

My husband likes fine writing journals- moleskin Rhoda etc. this was inexpensive so thought I would try. Not bad, good enough for us mere mortals -however paper/ journal freaks may expect more as in quality of paper. Nothing ventured nothing gained!

Book looks very stylish and was great quality paper. The back broke on it in less than two weeks. Terrible glue used for the book back.

As the oldest in my family, and after struggling to find out more about our heritage, I wrote my own biography and gave it to my kids for Christmas so that they would have something personal about me after I'm gone. Love, love, love this journal! The pages are the perfect thickness (you can write with a gel pen, for example, on both sides) and a pleasing ivory color. I agree with other reviews, don't think it's actually leather bound, but appears that it will be long-lasting.

The binding, the size the pages all lend to a great journaling notebook. I love using a fountain pen with a 3/32 tip and writing calligraphic. I also note some studies in Ancient Hebrew so the page weight is a huge plus.

UPDATE: well, i barely made it halfway through before the binding fell apart, now the 2nd half is basically unuseable.I liked the vibe of this journal when I ordered it and was not disapointed when I received it, it has a very high quality look and feel for the price. Picked this up to help foster the time honored tradition of a scouting patrol keeping a logbook. The boys embraced this and have kept great memories in this book. Nice cover. Holds up well to the beating the boys give it. Stronger than basic notebook paper for the pages, so keeps from words bleeding though to other side. Boys glue and tape pages to the paper to keep memories. Holds up well to all this use.

I just received my journal today. It's lovely. The cover is a nice reddish brown color, and has a smooth soft feel. It has a pocket in the back and a stick on pen holder. The paper is of good quality, lines are nicely spaced for bigger writing, and is smooth to write on. I like the elastic strap to hold it closed and the ribbon bookmark. It includes a 3 year calender and a page for person info. I am pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend.
