🔊 Alpine SPE-6000 6.5-inch 2-Way Car Speakers Review

These speakers were purchased based on the specifications and the fact that they have a silk dome tweeter. I don't know why, but I've always preferred the sound of high silk domes. My caravan had two different sets of speakers. There was no bass and sharp highs. They reach deeper, have a nice warm presence in the high frequencies and sound well balanced. Not the best sounding speakers I've heard, but at this price they're a steal. Very happy with my purchase.

These speakers, unlike others, fit behind the factory grilles in my car. The height from the mounting surface to the front of the speaker/tweeter is only 3/8" according to the diagram on the box - other speakers may be much taller. Now that they are installed they sound very good in the back and for a 6.5 inch speaker there is more bass than I expected. I am including a measurement chart from the box (not in the manual).

Great speakers for what they are. I've always been a fan of mountaineering. I wish they came with mounts, even universal ones would be fine. I had to cut and modify the old speaker mounts to fit these. Every car is unique, so don't let that put you off. The sound quality is excellent, especially when combined with a suitable amplifier/head unit. Super easy to install, even easier if you've done it before haha.
