Review on AOC G2460PF 1920x1080 Adjustable DisplayPort 144Hz Monitor with Tilt Adjustment, Flicker-Free Technology, Wall Mountable, USB Hub, G Series LED by Awiwi Knight

UPDATE: Now that Nvidia supports using G-Sync with FreeSync monitors, it's an additional consideration when looking at this monitor. Using Display Port 1.2, I just enabled (enabled G-Sync on this monitor for full screen and windowed display) and clicked apply. The people work without complaint. This is an absolute win for this monitor. My eye could not detect any flickering. Considering this new feature for my Nvidia card as well as the price of this monitor, I'm updating my rating to 5 stars. You can't beat the flawless use of G-SYNC for less than $200. Don't get me wrong, this monitor still has issues (as you'll read below), but it's too versatile for a serious budget gaming monitor not to give it 5 stars. Wow, I used to be the guy who hated playing at 30fps when I first came out on PC. Never wanted to go back. Then I heard about 144 Hz and got the impression that the eye normally sees around 60 fps (news: I was very wrong). I'm going to sound crazy saying this, but it's like adding oil to your screen, everything would be so smooth. 60 at the moment unfortunately seems changeable to me after my recent revelation. Definitely 144 fps helped me to play more comfortably and also improved my aiming as my movements became more precise and fluid (from what I've noticed in the last 4 days). Edit: (Aim is definitely better after a few months of use). ANYWAY YOU ARE HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS MONITOR. I can't talk to Freesync because I have an Nvidia card (READ THE UPDATE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE REVIEW). However, I can talk about the monitor's refresh rate at 144Hz with little to no ghosting with medium acceleration (that slight blurring you see with moving objects). Worked straight away, plugged in the display port (to get a full 144Hz) and turned it on, no problem. Lots of angle adjustments which is great but useless to me (EDIT: ANGLE ADJUSTMENT IS PRACTICALLY INVALID TO ME NOW BECAUSE I HAVE MUCH LESS DESK SPACE THAN I USE). However, a USB hub is ideal. WARNING: The USB fast charge port on the side of the monitor is not designed for fast charging as I tested on my phone. But the loading speed is quite decent. However, the hub itself works fantastic, which I plugged my mouse and keyboard into, now I have more space on my PC! MY ONE AGAINST FOR NOW: The initial color calibration is complete bullshit. The brightness is too high and the contrast is terrible. Make sure you go straight into display settings and color calibration because that's really rubbish. BUT: If you can live with the color setting (and note that since it's a tn panel, the color isn't great (although the viewing angles are still pretty solid), this monitor costs just under $200 .Honestly I don't know I don't think I'll ever play games at 60hz for FPS again it just seems too clean I can't show you 144hz but try it yourself and you will tell me you want to go back to 60Hz VERDICTION: It's worth my money if you're willing to spend a little time tweaking the colors Very happy with my purchase I also got a 4 year guarantee , so I'll update them if I run into technical issues, and I'd recommend getting a warranty as well, just in case this is a big purchase.(Edit after a few months of use, no technical issues so far).
