Needs some work but looks great!

I've had the monitor for about a day at the time of writing this review, but I've played a few games for a total of about 6 hours to get a good sample. Here are my thoughts: Switching from a flat to a curved monitor. Yes, it is VERY noticeable at first. But after perfect centering and 15-20 minutes of play, the curvature was no longer noticeable. - Default picture settings are bad, and "Gaming" modes are even worse (especially for games!). If you have the patience to spend about 20 minutes tweaking many settings, you'll find the perfect combination. No dead pixels, no obvious imperfections. Other reviews seem to hit or miss here, so your mileage may vary. - No USB ports, but the excellent thin frame takes care of that. - Increased refresh rate to 144Hz, increased resolution to 1440p. - Motion blur seems to be increased in Destiny 2, I'm not sure if this is due to the monitor's slower response time or the monitor's curved shape. Disabling motion blur in game settings fixed this issue. - Despite the monitor stand's awkward claw shape, it actually protrudes less than my previous round-based AOC monitor. - DARK VERY DARK. There are some areas in Destiny 2 that were just dark on my previous AOC monitor, but are now completely black. This is not a brightness issue, but a difference between LED and LCD panels. WHITE IS VERY BRIGHT. Destiny 2's home screen is almost a pain from getting so bright. I lowered some of the gamma settings which helped a bit. I confess that I tried increasing the brightness to be able to see better in dark areas (this is how it works now) and suffered a lot. Overall I'd say the display looks fantastic. My previous monitor was 1080p and my TV was 4K, so I wasn't sure how a 2K display could compare. It's noticeably better than 1080p and noticeably cheaper than a 4K screen, so what's not to like? I hate buying new monitors because I feel like if you don't pay more you're always compromising somewhere. But so far I have no complaints other than the necessary initial setup. I will update this review if my opinion changes.
