I ordered this part to replace a 2.5 year old fan in a 15 inch Dell 5000 series laptop. Delivery was quick after opening the shipping envelope, inner box, carton and inner-to-inner plastic wrap. With the cooling fan, I immediately noticed that one of the three screw flanges was broken BEFORE putting it in the box. It is possible that it was damaged in transit. I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 17 3000 Series model 3793 which I bought brand new in June 2020. From day one, out of the box, the fan often made horrible scratching noises, like the fan blades were rubbing against the case. This replacement fan fits me perfectly. The original fan got confused and made a loud grinding noise as soon as it turned on. The fan on this unit was easy to replace and now my Dell machine is very quiet again.
