Review on Lee_Store Cooling Latitude Inspiron 17 3780 by Phil Kowal

I ordered this part to replace a 2.5 year old fan in a 15 inch Dell 5000 series laptop. Delivery was quick after opening the shipping envelope, inner box, carton and inner-to-inner plastic wrap. With the cooling fan, I immediately noticed that one of the three screw flanges was broken BEFORE putting it in the box. It is possible that it was damaged in transit. After deciding I didn't want to make a 20 mile trip to a UPS store to return a $12 part, I pocketed it to make sure it actually worked, took it off, sawed the flange off the original fan, sawed off the broken flange onto the new fan and glued the old flange onto the new fan. I'm giving 3 stars because the defective fan works, but I'm deducting 2 for poor quality control. I suspect, but cannot prove, that my "new replacement" fan is a "recycled used replacement".
