My wife asked me to buy this for her mother. It has all your important documents (will, power of attorney, HIPPA, medical power of attorney, etc.). I worked in security for many years and found it difficult to understand all the negative reports. Some will be wrong. My experience is that for an 89 year old this is great. The teacher helps to open up when the mother cannot. Perfect for the work I intended. I'm buying another one to put on my large gun safe.

This is very heavy stuff. Almost impossible to close, and when it does, very difficult to open. There is a tear around it when "closed" and the "safe" cannot be watertight given that 1/4 inch opening. I'll just throw it away. Too heavy to send back. Don't waste money. I would never feel safe with my documents and hard drives inside. We live in Houston and need something to get us through the worst.

I read the reviews and rolled the dice anyway. Received it today, opened it, removed the keys, opened and closed a few times to make sure the latch worked. Everything was fine until I blocked it. After being locked and then unlocked, it won't open. The lock moves but I can't open it. I can feel the difference in the latch when it's closed and open.
