Exactly what you were hoping for

I chose this product because it was the cheapest xga front projector I could find. That was great. I can only recommend that. Larger plasmas give only a marginally better image than this and are much more expensive and bulky.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • poorly thought out

That's great! Lamps also only cost about $60.

I have had this projector for almost 6 years now. I use it in my living room, projecting a 4" x 8" image. That's great! The light bulbs are also only about $60 to replace. So I'll keep this one until it won't turn on anymore. I would recommend it for any home entertainment.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Frequency

Great little projector

I used this projector for power point presentations in class and it was great. It works great in well-lit environments. However, if you have very detailed graphics or need rich colors, you may need to dim the lights. It was easy to use and I had no problems. For the price this is a very good buy.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons

home theater yes! - Video Projectors

Don't listen to the opinions that this is not for home theater, first in 16:9 stretch mode it looks good 1080i looks good from my Comcast HD, also I use a panasonic dvd recorder with 1080p upconvert, and my movies look great buy a dvi to hdmi cable with hdmi switch and you will be fine good contrast 2200-1 lumen 2300 in full mode eco mode 1800 very bright lamp costs about $250 right now bought After a year of use I just love mine! I hope that was helpful

  • Best
Cons

Not for home cinema!

I am the lead installer for a company that installs RealHomeTheaters so I hope my experience can be of help. This projector has a resolution of 1024 x 768, which is an aspect ratio of 4:3. So in 16:9 (widescreen) mode, your effective pixels are not true HD. Also, it doesn't have HDMI inputs, and with modern technology, HDMI is a must. For a home theater, consider the Mitsubishi HC1500 or the Panasonic PT-AX200. Be sure to read my reviews as well. I hope this helps you get your RealHomeTheaters…

Sharp XR-30X is VERY sharp!

[I was Ed. This. for 37 years] Damn that Sharp XR-30X DLP projector I just bought! I bought it for our elementary school auditorium meetings as our other 3 projectors are becoming very popular for classroom use lately. So I installed it with a few others. And well, now I have to buy EVEN MORE of these because Sharp is making the rest of our projectors look so dated! And that for 600 dollars! Now I know why a projector's contrast ratio is a more important feature in online stores. It definitely…
