Description of 🔪 Syosaku VG-1 Gold Stainless Steel Japanese Chef Knife with Mahogany Handle, Gyuto 7-inch (180mm)

MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP - Handcrafted in Sakai Japan, where more than 90% of Japanese professional chef knives are produced. It is produced one at a time manually by highly skilled master artisans. It outperforms industrially mass produced products from every aspect. The master craftsmanship shines through in every single product. The unparalleled performances make you feel standing at the pinnacle of cooking! Sheath is sold separately. RAZOR SHARPNESS - Ready to use out of the box with ruthless sharpness. The core is Takefu VG-1 Gold high carbon stainless steel (HRC 60-62) produced in Fukui Japan. The Warikomi construction gives exceptional sharpness, edge retention, durability, and ease of sharpening at the same time. You can easily feel your upgraded technique level just by using a Syosaku Gyutou (Chef’s) Knife. Hand wash only and regularly sharpen on quality whetstones. VERSATILITY - Ideal for home or entry level chef handling daily kitchen tasks. You can cut, dice, slice, mince and chop with one knife. You can cut meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, and more. You can use it as a sushi knife, too. It’s double-edged, so doesn’t matter if you are right handed or left handed. To avoid a chip in a blade, don’t chop hard stuff like bones, nutshells, and frozen foods. Do not use on granite countertops. DURABILITY AND EASE OF USE - The VG-1 Gold core Warikomi structure is stain & corrosion resistant. The premium Mahogany wood used for the handle is water-resistant and non-slip. You don’t have to worry when it is left wet during its use (recommended to wash and dry after the use). The handle is triple riveted to the full tang, which gives exceptional strength & durability. The ergonomically designed handle and perfectly balanced construction make you comfortable even for a long time use. AESTHETICS AND 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE - A simple and elegant design makes your cooking more enjoyable. An elegant Mahogany handle adds more visual accents. It brings refinement and style to any modern kitchen. It’s a perfect gift for your loved one, too. If you don't love our Syosaku Chef’s Knife, please return within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

Beautiful and Razor Sharp

The sharpest knife I've ever owned. Nicely done. Worth every penny. I am so often disappointed with knives bought online but not this one. This is the goalkeeper.

Solid 9/10 Best in Cutlery & Knife Accessories Category

An amazing product that came sharp out of the box. The perfect length for all those smaller knife jobs but also for heavier jobs like the big prep jobs you do in your work kitchen. The only thing to note is that you need to wipe it down every 7-10 cuts as the piping will get sticky from moisture. Otherwise, I 100% recommend it for both home and professional chefs.

Good knife, bad feeling

I really wanted to love this knife, but our marriage was doomed from the start. Hell I didn't even take it to work as it was repackaged and ready to ship a few hours after I received it. This knife just didn't work for me because my hand shoved it off like a pack of used Blue Light Special underwear; I think I almost dropped it, I hated the feeling so much. Rough, unbalanced and light as a quarter feather, with a sharp blade and an unforgiving temper. Maybe this is something for you.

Sharp but unbalanced knife

I used to sell knives so my apologies for the awkward terminology. I recommend searching the internet for "chef's knife parts" if you want to know more. In the photo it looks like a forged knife with a full roll, which justifies the price. While technically a continuously forged knife, I was disappointed to find an unnecessary gap in the bead that would collect germs and dirt over time. (see image) A real chef's knife allows you to balance your fingers on the shaft - where the blade meets the…
