Works well but mechanically not perfect

More and more electronic devices use Micro SD media. Similarly, more and more computers, tablets, and smartphones have USB-C ports. Hence, there is a growing need for Micro SD to USB-C adapters. These adapters are relatively cheap and have decent bandwidth. However, there is a grinding noise when the USB-C end is inserted, which indicates that the USB-C end is too large. It fits, but it's tighter than it should be. I bought two and both have fit issues.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Uncertain

Destroyed my expensive card!

As mentioned earlier this thing destroyed my card. I put it in and it never came out. not in one piece. Well, now I don't have a card reader anymore, as well as an expensive card with the data on it. Did I put it in wrong? Who knows, usually the device won't allow that. I didn't force the memory card in, just inserted it as usual. Also, before the big card dinner in 2021, I noticed she was having connection issues (as others have mentioned). and oddly it was also difficult to connect to andโ€ฆ

It's so easy to ruin an mSD card!

I have an LG V30+ and it definitely works. When it's plugged in or doing very intense activity, it feels very hot, like you've just brewed tea from boiling water. The problem is that even though you're not doing anything, the adapter randomly disconnects. I thought it was my phone so I tried the proprietary PROPER adapter, it works. After three random disconnects, my card could not be recognized, my phone asked me to format the SD card. I put this 128GB mSD in my computer and it got corruptedโ€ฆ

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Ruined 128GB microSD card and adapter.

I have been using this device for several weeks. Last night I accidentally put my SD card in the device upside down. I've been using micro SD cards for almost a decade and have inserted many cards upside down in many devices. In most cases, the card simply does not fit or is otherwise rejected by the reader/writer. This adapter blocked my SD card. When I tried to remove my card it broke in half. Half of the card was left in the now-defunct adapter, and half of the card went in the trash. I hadโ€ฆ

Decent shape, good build, USB3 promise

TL;DR, that would be a good (and fast) OTG adapter, but it wouldn't be bulletproof and I wouldn't recommend long-term install, it unless it is well protected. ShapeGood: Fits well in a phone (even with a case) due to the spacing between the Type-C ports. Bad: The adapter is a bit long and the SD card sticks out halfway. If it is semi-permanent use (DVR or security camera), I would strongly recommend going with a shorter design and making the SD card more secure. BuildGood: Consistent qualityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Perfect for copying files to and from my Android phone and tablet

This device pairs well with the USB-C ports on my Samsung Note 8 phone, Samsung S3 tablet and Samsung S7 plus tablet. It seems to work fine with all my microSD cards, even up to 512MB. This is especially useful if you have applications for viewing and syncing files. The two best Android apps I've found are Solid Explorer and SMBsync2. These two software tools allow you to easily copy and back up files from internal and external microSD cards on your phone and tablet (if you have them) to thisโ€ฆ
