Description of Ximimark Digispark Kickstarter ATTINY85 Development

The Digispark is an Attiny85 based microcontroller development board similar to the line, only cheaper, smaller, and a bit less powerful. With a whole host of shields to extend its functionality and the ability to use the familiar Arduino IDE the Digispark is a great way to jump into electronics, or perfect for when an Arduino is too big or too much. The Digispark is shipped fully assembled except for the two included and easy to solder headers. Support for the Arduino IDE 1.0+ (OSX/Win/Linux). Power via USB or External Source - 5v or 7-35v (12v or less recommended, automatic selection). 6 I/O Pins (2 are used for USB only if your program actively communicates over USB, otherwise you can use all 6 even if you are programming via USB)

one out of ten doesn't work because of soldering

When I ordered 10 pieces, unfortunately one was defective. I recommend you to buy +1 in addition to your requirement. Luckily I was able to find the error and fix it well.

Pros
  • Noble design
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfect fit for my project RGB Pixel

I chose it because I prefer a micro USB connection for programming and power supply. They were well packaged, both worked as expected and worked great with the Arduino. Just bought 2 more for more LED projects!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Null

They work. suitable for computer parts

work. I actually had to look up the YouTube video DigiStump links to on how to get them working properly. Some of the USB connectors are a little crooked and some of the PCB edge cuts aren't the cleanest, but that's fine for my purposes.

Pros
  • inspires confidence
Cons
  • there are problems

Fast shipping and all working

They were loaded with a micronucleus and configured to work with USB. Just a note, if you want to use the pb5 as a gpio you can use usbtiny to reset the fuses, but you'll need a HV programmer to get it back. For that, these are great.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • -

It works directly with the USB cable

It still remembers its code after programming and unplugging/replugging the USB port. Aha! This device comes with the correct version of the bootloader pre-installed, so it can start working straight away with a USB cable without using the Arduino Uno/nano as a programmer. I give it 5 stars because it works out of the box with a USB cable. So happy to purchase this board.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Working digispark for computers and accessories

Summary: If you REALLY REALLY want/need to use the digispark I love them very much, good luck or miss with other vendors, nicely packaged AND! THEY WORK! I have used many digisparks when they cost me $2 each, these are really AWESOME but now that I have to spend $4 to get a working digispark or buy 5 for $2 and hope one or 2 this is how they work I'm done with Digispark but when I use them I want them to work like this. They have worked great for me. Lots of people have trouble with bootloader…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Security
