Very satisfied: Brewery

Very satisfied. I was worried it wasn't fermentation but I think my imprint shouldn't have been good. Bottles well and comes out with good foam like Sam Adams. Tastes like a Guinness stout to me. Pretty good, even if I'm not an expert. Be sure to measure the filling sugar and don't just use the whole pack. It was more than enough.

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Protection

First Brewer - Homebrew and Winemaking

This was my first batch of Homebrews and I am very pleased with the result. The alcohol content was about 8% for me and the taste is good. It was a big hit with my friends (one of whom wanted to buy 3 cases from me lol) and I loved it, although now that summer is coming I'll probably try a lighter beer next time. This batch size is perfect for a 1/6 barrel keg for those of you interested in that route. I think a kegerator is in my future.

  • New
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

Solid luggage rack with no frills

Very good for a simple luggage rack with no frills. It's a relatively forgiving style and an easier-to-drink recipe than some of the best brewing stouts. It has a relatively light, refreshing mouthfeel with a strong malty/dark grain flavor that fades into a long aftertaste. I usually buy these kits and then make some changes like adding coffee beans to the secondary coffee, chocolate chips, etc., but when we brewed this it smelled so good we just filled it up and started drinking. A bonus forโ€ฆ

  • There are disadvantages

BEER is what you make.

Yes, too thin; yes, it's low alcohol; yes, it lacks depth and character; BUT YOU, the brewer, are responsible for that. This is an excellent set, it makes a decent respectable carrier; However, this is a GREAT set for those keen to add their own style. I made four batches of this kit with a variety of ingredients; triple hopping with three different hop varieties; adding fruits to primary and secondary; and as a result I had four exceptional brews. First time it was my first batch of home madeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Worth every penny for the result.

Well, I confess I made two mistakes while brewing this drink. My first mistake was using a 900 watt stove to boil water over my 1200 watt induction burner and the second was adding yeast when the wort was too hot. So of course I was worried that I had somehow screwed up the recipe. But. It's not like this. I've been waiting for some bottles for this review for a few months. I haven't added or tried to improve this recipe, so this will be a full review of it. Let's start with the instructionsโ€ฆ
